Mandate: encouraging creation of new Canadian work and bridging the gap between established and emerging artists
This show was so well-paced and full of great imagery that I couldn’t resist sharing a few more.
The purpose of this photo shoot was to showcase an up-and-coming neighborhood in the city of Edmonton, Alberta. The images presented in this post are images that were not included in my first edit for a number of reasons The first one is too centre-weighted, too focused on the model and not the main subject (which was the street) The third image does show the street but there is too much negative space in focal area and it does not reveal enough of the distinguishing characteristics of the subject. The second image is just a little ‘behind the scenes” shot for context.

One year ago today our Ruby Mei arrived in the living room. I love you my daughter.
This is one of my favorite images from a shoot I did for Epic Photography in October 2011, when Alison Redford was sworn in as Ed Stelmach’s successor. Now she’s earned it. Now she has the power to change her party and our province for the better.

I really do try to restrain myself from putting up too many images of my son. When I used Facebook albums I really went overboard. At least with a blog I restrict myself to 1 or 2 images and endeavour to ensure that they have some special quality beyond being simply documentary images of Jasper.
